As the smallest frame turbo offered in the Garrett G Series, the G25-550 offers the opportunity to make up to 400 wheel horsepower without sacrificing the responsiveness of a small frame turbo (popular for SR20 and CA18 applications).

Generally, we would recommend the G25-550 turbocharger for SR20DET (and other 4 cylinder engines) looking to upgrade/increase their horsepower up to 400 wheel horsepower. If you have a 4-cylinder engine with goals are beyond 400 wheel horsepower, the next option to look at is the G25-660.

TIP: Garrett horsepower ratings are calculated at crank horsepower not wheel horsepower. As an estimate, reduce ratings by 20% for wheel horsepower ratings. For the G25-550, we would recommend it’s use in up to 440 wheel horsepower applications.
