The RB26. The legend of the JDM tuning industry. The GTR and the RB26 have developed a huge following throughout the course of its history, through success in domestic and international circuit racing events and due to its successes on the drag strip as well.
However, the baby 2.6L capacity began to reach its limits and alternatives began to emerge in order to resolve this issue, whilst maintaining the capability to rev highly and remain strong and reliable. Hence, the Nitto RB26 2.7L and 2.8L kits came to fruition.
To date, the success of the RB27 and RB28 kits can be seen on the circuit with various Open Class World Time Attack Challenge competitors utilising our kits. This application is arguably the most difficult application for any set of components to endure, given the punishing nature of circuit racing, testing the ability to maintain a certain level of performance over extended periods of time. Additionally, plenty of builds run the RB27 and RB28 kits on the drag strip with considerable success and these kits can also be seen in street driven applications.
The kits consist of Nitto/CP pistons in either 86.5MM/+0.020″ or 87MM/+0.040″, cut from the Turbo HD forging, PVD Turbo ring set for the ultimate sealing capabilities and, of course, the CP 9310 wrist pins. Nitto 121.5mm I-beam connecting rods are included in both of the kits and come with ARP 2000 rod bolts as standard. The option to purchase Custom Age 625 rod bolts is also available on purchase. Finally, the Nitto RB27 or RB28 4340 stroker crank is also included, obviously dependent on which kit you decide to choose.
It must also be noted that these stroker kits are also compatible with the RB25 block, however, if you are using a NEO head, the pistons must be custom ordered to suit.
